The Legend of Black Boaby

The Legend of Black Boaby has entered into Scottish folklore.

On a stormy night on Islay, the young Border Collie mysteriously disappeared. Some say he just vanished into thin air, others that he must have drowned in Loch Indaal. Whatever his fate, he is said to haunt the foreshore of Bruichladdich, seeking revenge for the time he lost his teeth after an encounter with a length of angle iron. His ghost-like bark can often be heard late at night and, in true doggie style, often keeps Jim McEwan up all night.

From "Friends Over A Hogshead" comes a dram of distinction. Some of Scotland's finest whiskies have been thrown together to create a vatting of monster proportions. Blair Athol 12 years old, Caol Ila 18 years old, Highland Park 16 years old, Invergordon 36 years old and Rosebank 12 years old - they are all here.

Notes of Rachel Barrie, Burnt Pirelli, Peterheid Harbour and Frazzles (ya baw) have all been picked up in this truly unique expression.

Bottle shock guaranteed.

And you thought it was Ardbeg!

The original Black Boaby Blend was a one-off unique bottle, numbered 1 of 1.

Black Boaby Blend II takes the original Black Boaby Blend and improves upon it with the substitution of a 37 year old 1972 Invergordon in place of the 36 year old in the original blend. The bottling was limited to 5 individually numbered bottles.
